A Venue with History, Atmosphere and Scale

Set in the heart of York, the National Railway Museum is one of the UK’s most unique and impressive event spaces. Known for its breathtaking collection of historic locomotives and grand exhibition halls, the venue creates an atmosphere that blends heritage, innovation, and elegance.

In the celebrated semi-final challenge, eight talented cooks were tasked with catering a banquet for 100 railway staff, volunteers, and enthusiasts as part of the museum’s 200th anniversary celebrations marking the birth of the modern railway. The pressure was immense, the standards were sky-high, and the setting was unforgettable

For one evening, Station Hall became a live television set, filled with cameras, production crews, chefs plating under pressure, and guests enjoying an unforgettable banquet in one of the UK’s most spectacular heritage spaces.

It was a privilege to feature our glorious museum on this season of MasterChef and wish the contestants all the best as they progress on and off the show!
