As is true of many members of the events team, a career in events was always on the cards for Helen. Following a degree in International Hospitality Management at Leeds Beckett University and event roles in hotels, Helen joined the museum as Event Sales Executive and has since been promoted to Manager. Her favourite space is the Royal Platform—in particular, Queen Victoria’s personal carriage.
Having begun her career in the luxury hotel sector, Verity came to work for the National Railway Museum because she believes it’s a venue like no other. Every visitor leaves with fond memories, whether they came as a child or attended an event as an adult; Verity loves being a part of creating these memories. On a day-to-day basis, the venue enables her to work on a wide range of events, meaning that no two of her working days are the same as each other.
As part of her event management degree at Leeds Beckett University, Hannah undertook a year-long placement organising events at a local theatre; an experience that sparked her interest in unique venues. After a couple of years working for a hotel group, Hannah fulfilled her desire to return to a unique venue by joining the National Railway Museum events team. Positive feedback is the force that drives her to deliver the best possible event experience for her clients and guests.
With over 20 years in the event industry, four of which he's spent at the Science Museum Group, there’s not much Chris doesn’t know about running events, particularly in unique venues. The thrill of a non-negotiable deadline and the pressure that it brings is what drives Chris and his teams to deliver excellent events across all three northern sites in the Group.
Having begun working for event venues at an early age, it quickly became apparent that a career in event organisation was the only path for Catherine. After working through the ranks, Catherine joined the luxury hotel market with sales roles surrounding all areas of events. It was from here that Catherine’s ambition to work in world-class, unique venues led her to the National Railway Museum, a space that always leaves guests in awe. A fast-paced venue with its own intricacies and exceptional qualities, Catherine enjoys nothing more than seeing the space come to life with each different event.
