York-based IT company Anaplan provides connected planning technology and solutions for businesses around the world. It began as a one-man tech startup in a stone barn in York and is now a global organisation with over 1000 employees in offices in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.
At the end of a successful 2017 for Anaplan’s York office, its 100 staff held their Christmas party at the National Railway Museum.
The night kicked off with a drinks reception among the Royal Carriages in Station Hall. Guests were entertained by a magician and a strolling band before being shown to their seats.
In keeping with the night’s ‘Around the World’ theme, tables were decorated with illuminated globes, and fairy lights were laced around the pillars to create a festive atmosphere.
Instead of a traditional Christmas meal, guests were treated to a bespoke ‘Around the World’ menu from which they could pick and choose from Italian, Greek, Indian and American cuisine served at individual stations.
After mini desserts of Tiramisu, New York cheesecake and Yorkshire rhubarb mess, the guests played on the roulette and blackjack tables in the fun casino, got snap-happy with the themed photo mirror and enjoyed dancing to the sounds of the in-house DJ.
Anaplan’s organiser Nicky Young was delighted with the food and service, and we were pleased to receive this feedback from her: ‘I just wanted to say thank you for last night. The food was fantastic and looked very impressive. Please pass on my thanks to all the staff working last night’.
